This spirit is 100% Mexican-true tequila is protected by a denomination of origin, and comes only from certain limited regions within Mexico where the Agave Azul (Blue Agave) plant grows. There are three basic types of tequila, classified by the aging process.

"Blanco":
Also known as "silver", this is pure, double-distilled tequila with no aging.

"Reposado":
Aged in oak barrels anywhere from two months to two years. At this point it takes on a light golden color.

"Anejo":
aged anywhere from two years…up to as much as 25 years. The longer the aging process, the richer and more complex the flavor.
